Body kit, Barracuda wheels & Co.: Audi A5 8T à la JMS Fahrzeugteile
No less than thirteen years have passed since Audi launched a beautiful mid-range coupé with the A5. Thanks to the sporty and elegant design line drawn by Walter da Silva, the first generation of models built from 2007 to 2016 is by no means getting on in years, but still knows how to inspire today. This is all the more true when the car, like this one presented by JMS Fahrzeugteile, has been refreshed and individualized with some tuning measures.
On the one hand, the specialists from Walddorfhäslach installed their own body kit on the Ingolstadt two-door, which was deliberately designed discreetly and cautiously so as not to disturb the timeless original lines of the A5, but rather to complement it skilfully. The kit consists of a front spoiler lip (259 euros), side skirts (269 euros) and a diffuser insert for the rear (259 euros). The body components are available for models with and without S-Line equipment. They are also suitable not only for the coupé, but also for the convertible and the front lip also for the Sportback. Barracuda Karizzma light alloy wheels in the dimensions 10.5×20 inches provide further visual highlights on the show car. The high-quality classic rims are covered with 275/25R20 tires. The additional lowering of the body by around 40 millimeters is thanks to H&R/JMS special springs in combination with the factory shock absorbers.
In terms of performance, the Audi is also impressive, with the 3.2-liter V6 FSI petrol engine with 265 hp and 330 Nm, which is already quite large-volume by today’s standards, sits under its hood. Only the engine sound turned out to be in need of improvement, so JMS installed an Eisenmann silencer: This not only ensures an inspiring, muffled V6 sound, but also has a performance-optimizing effect.
