Energy storage and raw materials

The European electricity grid is in urgent need of modernization. Europe has 10.8 gigawatts of storage capacity. Although this is set to increase to 50 gigawatts by 2030, 200 gigawatts would be needed. Blackouts could become the norm. Spain is not the only country struggling with an unstable power supply or instability; the UK is also affected. Many power lines in Europe are more than 40 years old. The infrastructure needs to be improved because renewable energies, data centers and electromobility are growing. At the same time, the proportion of fossil fuels is decreasing, which is good for the environment, but grid expansion is necessary and costs a lot of money and time. Storage batteries need battery metals. These include lithium, cobalt, nickel, but also copper and zinc. According to the latest research findings, zinc-based batteries may soon be a more cost-effective and sustainable way of storing electricity alongside lithium-ion batteries.

Foran Mininghttps://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/foran-mining-corp/ -, for example, is responsible for battery metals. The projects are located in Saskatchewan, Canada and contain copper, zinc, gold and silver, and producer status is close at hand.

This also raises the question of whether gold and silver will help in the event of a prolonged blackout, as electronic payment methods or digital currencies do not work without electricity. It is not so easy to exchange gold and silver for goods in an emergency, just think of the denomination. Apart from that, precious metals in physical form or as an investment in the shares of precious metal companies should be included in any well-balanced portfolio.

There is Vizsla Silverhttps://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/vizsla-silver-corp/ -, for example. The company owns the high-grade Panuco gold-silver project in Mexico. The project covers around 7,200 hectares. Test mining is already underway here.
