The US space agency fears its competitor China. And so NASA is seeking proposals from industry to produce nuclear energy on the moon ahead of the competition. This is because China is planning a manned trip to the moon around 2030. NASA and Russia have already looked into the topic of nuclear power on the moon in the past. Russia and China signed a memorandum of understanding on expanding their cooperation in space back in 2021. For the US, this would be the first manned trip in more than 50 years. The Americans are aiming for 2027. It remains to be seen whether there will be further delays and what the US president thinks of the plans. Future moon missions could be powered by nuclear energy, as solar energy alone is not sufficient due to the dark phases. Incidentally, NASA, ESA, Russia, and China are working on spacecraft that would significantly shorten and reduce the cost of the journey to the moon using nuclear propulsion and fuel.

Here on Earth, nuclear energy is an important part of the energy mix, as it ensures a clean and, above all, constant supply of energy. And the world’s appetite for energy is growing. New technologies such as artificial intelligence, increasing electrification, and the growing number of data centers depend on a secure energy supply. And in view of global efforts to decarbonize, nuclear energy, which is a CO2-neutral energy source, and therefore uranium, are increasingly coming into focus. This also applies to mining companies that own uranium projects.

Uranium Energy https://www.commodity-tv.com/play/uranium-energy-uranium-market-analysis-and-insight-on-production-and-future-production-potential/ – has ISR uranium projects in the US and other high-grade projects in Canada, as well as diversified uranium holdings.

Premier American Uranium https://www.commodity-tv.com/play/premier-american-uranium-insights-on-the-benefits-of-the-acquisition-of-nuclear-fuels/ – owns uranium projects in excellent uranium regions in the US, including Colorado, Wyoming, and New Mexico. Both companies score highly with an outstanding management team and the excellent locations of their projects.
