In response to the increasing demand for flexible, high-performance signal sources, SIGLENT introduces the SDG3000X Series Arbitrary Waveform Generator. Designed for high fidelity and precision, the SDG3000X delivers up to 200 MHz output frequency, 16-bit vertical resolution, a maximum sampling rate of 1.2 GSa/s, and up to 40 Mpts of arbitrary waveform memory per channel. Advanced EasyPulse and TrueArb technologies ensure precise, low-jitter signal generation, while built-in sequencing enhances complex test scenarios. With its 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, intuitive interface, and robust performance, the SDG3000X addresses the need for reliable instrumentation across communications, semiconductors, new energy technologies, academic research, and other evolving test environments.
High-Fidelity Signal Generation and precise Pulse Control
The SDG3000X Series integrates EasyPulse and TrueArb technologies to deliver the accuracy and flexibility which modern applications demand and overcoming the limitations of traditional DDS-based waveform generation. EasyPulse is optimized for generating high-precision pulse signals, producing pulses as narrow as 8 ns with stable, fast edges even when frequencies change. This makes it ideally suited for applications such as radar testing, power electronics validation, and timing-critical circuit characterization, where reliable edge control and fine adjustments of pulse width are essential. TrueArb supports point-by-point waveform generation across a sampling range from 10 mSa/s to 600 MSa/s, ensuring waveform integrity with ultra-low jitter and excellent linearity. With THD below 0.075%, it provides the fidelity required for demanding scenarios such as high-speed data communications, semiconductor device evaluation, and mixed-signal system testing.
Advanced Arbitrary and Complex Signal Generation
With 196 built-in arbitrary waveforms and up to 40 Mpts of memory per channel, the SDG3000X can store and accurately reproduce complex signals for demanding test scenarios. Its flexible sequence mode allows users to define playback order and loop counts for each waveform segment, making it ideal for custom and repetitive testing. The SDG3000X also supports PRBS output up to 120 Mbps, baseband and IF IQ signal generation with symbol rates from 250 kSymb/s to 50 MSymb/s, and a wide range of modulation types, including AM, DSB-SC, FM, PM, FSK, ASK, PSK, and PWM. With built-in Sweep and Burst modes, it delivers comprehensive support for a variety of applications appearing at educational labs and R&D projects to industrial testing of power devices and communication systems.
Double-Pulse Testing for Power Semiconductors
Double-pulse testing is essential for evaluating the dynamic behavior of power semiconductor devices such as IGBTs and SiC MOSFETs, particularly when analyzing switching losses and conduction characteristics. The SDG3000X provides an ideal platform for these tests. With channel tracking and phase synchronization, users can precisely control pulse widths and timing intervals to accurately replicate realistic switching events. Combined with remote control via USB/LAN and oscilloscope synchronization, the SDG3000X simplifies the development of automated test setups and help enhance both testing efficiency and the reliability of measured data.
Smart User Experience
Equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen, the SDG3000X offers intuitive parameter settings and real-time signal viewing. It supports MATLAB and Python script import as well as oscilloscope linkage for automated calibration. A built-in high-precision frequency counter, multiple communication interfaces including LAN, USB, and GPIB and the integrated WebServer provide easy remote access and enable synchronization across multiple devices, streamlining workflows and enhancing productivity.
Conclusion
In summary, the SDG3000X combines high performance, flexibility, and application-focused features to meet the needs of modern test environments, making it a versatile choice for engineers and technicians across a wide range of industries.
