SKZ and 3D Printing Academy: Strong partnership for education in additive manufacturing

The Plastics Centre is collaborating with the 3D Printing Academy and will be one of the main sponsors of the innovative 3D printing learning platform. The partnership will make specialist knowledge about plastics and additive manufacturing technologies available to a wide audience in a digital, practical and target group-oriented manner – from beginners to experts.
As a leading research and educational institute in the plastics industry, SKZ brings its many years of expertise to the 3D Printing Academy. Through this cooperation, members of the academy gain access to high-quality e-learning formats covering the entire spectrum of additive manufacturing. The courses cover both the basics of plastics technology and key processes such as material extrusion, photopolymerisation and powder bed fusion. The programme is supplemented by practical content on design, process planning and post-processing. In this way, SKZ supports companies, skilled workers and young talent in systematically expanding their skills and staying up to date.

Community, courses and expert knowledge
The 3D Printing Academy is a leading online community platform for questions and further training in the field of additive manufacturing. It is aimed at beginners, advanced users and experts who want to deepen their knowledge in a practical way and exchange ideas online. With over 2,400 active community members, regular live sessions, expert interviews and a constantly growing range of courses, the academy offers a lively learning environment and a central point of contact for knowledge transfer in the industry.

‘With this new cooperation, we are making an important contribution to digital training in the plastics and 3D printing industry,’ explains Alexander Vyhnal, Head of Education & Research Additive Manufacturing at SKZ. ‘Our goal is to impart knowledge in a practical and widely accessible way. With the 3D Printing Academy, we have a strong platform at our side to achieve this.’

Partners with a shared vision
‘With SKZ, we are gaining a renowned partner that stands for excellent expertise in the plastics industry,’ emphasises Andreas Weiß from the 3D Printing Academy. ‘By integrating SKZ content, we are expanding our course offerings and creating even more practical and scientifically sound learning opportunities for our members. This not only strengthens our community, but also knowledge transfer throughout the industry.’

‘Through this new partnership, SKZ and the 3D Printing Academy are making an important contribution to further expanding digital education formats, tapping into new target groups and breaking new ground in the qualification of skilled workers in additive manufacturing,’ emphasises Irena Heuzeroth, Senior Trainer for Injection Moulding & Additive Manufacturing at SKZ. ‘At the same time, it underlines the shared interest of both partners in actively shaping the future of manufacturing and making knowledge widely available.’
