The largest antimony deposits are located in China, Russia, South Africa, and Bolivia. Uranium is found primarily in Kazakhstan, Canada, and Australia. However, China plays a dominant role in both the global antimony market and the uranium market. China is an increasingly important player in the extraction and processing of uranium. With many new reactors being planned and built around the world, uranium is once again in high demand, as reflected in price trends. As of June 2025, China is planning 44 new nuclear power plants, Russia 23, and India 14. Experts therefore expect demand for uranium to rise in the coming years as the trend toward clean energy continues.
Uranium and antimony are found in numerous chemical compounds that are used in industry. Uranium, for example, is used in research, medicine, and the military, for example as a coating for armor-piercing ammunition. Antimony is indispensable for modern defense and energy systems and is now more in demand than ever in view of increasing militarization. Antimony has also risen dramatically in price. Between January 2024 and November 2024 alone, the price rose from US$13,000 per ton to US$31,000. One reason for this is Chinese export restrictions. Antimony is used in alloys and flame retardants, as well as in batteries, semiconductor applications, and ammunition manufacturing. The current arms boom and the trade war triggered by the US have made antimony a sought-after commodity for the major powers.
GoldMining – https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/goldmining-inc/ – has large gold and copper projects in North and South America. The 100% company-owned Crucero project in Peru has significant antimony mineralization in addition to gold.
Premier American Uranium – https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/premier-american-uranium-inc/ – has uranium projects in excellent regions in the US, namely the Great Divide Basin in Wyoming and the Uravan Mineral Belt in Colorado. With its extensive land holdings, the company is ideally positioned.
