.
▪ INNEXIS plans to acquire a multi-user site from Novartis in Kundl including certain infrastructure facilities and real estate business services. As part of the transaction, 30 employees will be transferred to INNEXIS.
▪ With this move, the internationally active group headquartered in Marburg strengthens its role as one of the leading owners and operators of pharma & life science parks in Europe.
▪ As the new owner and operator of the Kundl site, INNEXIS plans to further develop the site economically while simultaneously driving its sustainable, climate-friendly orientation.

INNEXIS Holding GmbH & Co. KG plans to acquire the Life Science Campus in Kundl, Austria, from the internationally active biotechnology and pharmaceutical company Novartis.

The transaction will enable Novartis Austria to focus on its core business, in particular the research, development, and production of innovative medicines.

“The acquisition of such a thriving and long-standing Pharma & Life Science Park as Kundl marks a milestone in our company’s development. We are very pleased that Novartis has placed its trust in us to operate and further develop the site in the interest of the resident companies, employees, and the region,” said Dr. Martin Egger, CEO of the INNEXIS Group. “INNEXIS specializes in keeping pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies at our sites free to focus on their core business by taking over site management and supporting them with specialized solutions in engineering and logistics.”

In Kundl, INNEXIS plans to acquire an area of approximately 264,000 m² with more than 100 buildings, as well as certain infrastructure and the related services business.
The core research and production facilities will remain the property of Novartis Austria. Roland Gander, Managing Director of the Kundl/Schaftenau Campus, explained the strategic decision: “We have concluded that transferring the management and operational control of the Life Science Campus Kundl to a professional industrial park operator can better maximize and further develop the site’s economic potential and facilitate the settlement of new companies.”

For the majority of the approximately 850 employees at the Kundl site, nothing will change as a result of the acquisition, as Novartis will remain on the campus and continue the operation of its core production facilities. It is planned that 30 employees from the campus management will transfer to the INNEXIS Group with the same roles and responsibilities.
As the new prospective owner and operator, INNEXIS plans to further develop the site, particularly by attracting additional companies, offering production buildings, office space and development areas for future tenants.

“Another core element of our corporate philosophy is to establish the energy supply of our life science parks in a sustainable and future-proof manner. Anyone who wants to bring together security of supply, regulatory requirements, and decarbonization needs robust and innovative infrastructure – and we will also drive this forward in Kundl,” said Dr. Martin Egger.

The transaction is expected to take effect at January, 1st 2027. The sale and purchase agreement remains subject to the fulfilment of customary closing conditions and the receipt of the necessary regulatory approvals, including merger control clearance in Austria.
