Training at LAPP as a guarantee of investment: digital skills in the spotlight

This year, LAPP is offering eighteen different professions and fields of study. A particular focus is on professions with a digital and technological background. Matthias Lapp, CEO of the LAPP Group, emphasises: ‘Apprenticeship and dual study programmes are a guaranteed investment in our future! At LAPP, we are committed to the programmes and offer 30 to 35 places for apprentices and dual students at our German locations every year. Over the last three years, LAPP has taken on almost 100 young talents with fresh, courageous ideas who can grow and develop at LAPP!’
International exchange and values
International experience is an essential part of LAPP’s training. This year, for example, dual students in their second year of their studies are working with LAPP colleagues in China, Austria, Sweden and the USA. One apprentice is currently working at LAPP in Mexico. In addition, three apprentices are taking part in an EU-funded internship in Italy and Spain as part of the Go.for.europe project. These international experiences enrich the personal and professional development of the apprentices and dual students and showcase LAPP as a global company.
‘At LAPP, we emphasise training that teaches young people to work independently,’ explains Anne Voigt, Head of Training at LAPP. ‘Among other things, we promote reliability, a sense of responsibility and teamwork to optimally prepare our apprentices and dual students for the challenges of the future. Digital skills, such as working with AI, play a central role for young people – across all professions and study profiles.’
First steps at LAPP
At LAPP, the start of professional life traditionally begins with an introductory week in which the 31 new apprentices and dual students get to know the company, their colleagues and decision-makers at LAPP. In general, it is important to the family-owned company that career starters are able to look beyond their own horizons during their apprenticeship or dual study. They are actively involved in numerous projects, such as trade fairs for apprenticeship and studies, events such as the annual LAPP anniversary celebration, a simulation game to promote networked thinking, and a week-long social project.
