ATIX AG releases orcharhino 7.5 with expanded virtualization integrations and improved Debian/Ubuntu functions

ATIX AG introduces orcharhino 7.5, the latest version of its platform for IT automation and infrastructure management. The release expands support for current virtualization platforms, strengthens the integration of Debian and Ubuntu systems, and simplifies working with proxies and provisioning templates.

New support for vSphere 9 and Proxmox 9

With version 7.5, orcharhino supports the latest releases of VMware vSphere 9 and Proxmox 9. This allows users to update their virtualization infrastructures and use the latest features of the respective platforms in conjunction with orcharhino.

With vSphere 9, part of VMware Cloud Foundation, and Proxmox 9, orcharhino 7.5 supports two new versions from major compute resource providers. As the first open-source-based enterprise management solution with support for vSphere 9 and simultaneous provisioning on Proxmox 9, orcharhino underscores its vendor neutrality. This gives users the freedom to use the platform that best suits their needs—or a combination of both.

Transparent support for provisioning templates

orcharhino 7.5 now marks templates that have been tested and validated by the orcharhino team. This makes it easier to access tested and supported templates and create a stable basis for automated provisioning.

Content view filters for Debian/Ubuntu now also include errata

The content view filters have been expanded and now also take into account errata for Debian and Ubuntu systems. This allows administrators to specify more precisely which packages and updates are available on hosts. This reduces the risk of unwanted or insecure packages and increases control and security in heterogeneous environments.

Proxy content repair via the GUI

Previously, inconsistent or unsynchronized repositories on proxy servers had to be repaired via the command line. With orcharhino 7.5, a simple GUI option is now available for this purpose, which significantly simplifies the process and reduces the administrative effort.

Finalization of Structured APT

The Structured APT concept is fully rolled out with version 7.5. Installations of Debian and Ubuntu content that have not yet been migrated will receive the functionality as part of the upgrade. Structured APT improves the management of APT repositories and enables the smooth use of advanced APT features such as APT pinning.
