One click to your carbon footprint
Breaking News:
Mittwoch, Nov. 5, 2025
After more than three years of intensive research and development, the time has come: as part of the SuLiCo – Sustainable Lightweight Construction project, the key result will be officially presented on Thursday, 20 November 2025, from 12:45 to 13:30 – a database-supported web tool for the holistic evaluation of lightweight plastic components.
The tool enables a multi-criteria assessment of environmental and resource performance as early as the design and construction phase. It takes into account the entire life cycle of products and offers decision-making support on parameters such as carbon footprint, resource efficiency and energy requirements. In this way, it helps developers to identify conflicting goals at an early stage and to evaluate sustainable alternatives on a sound basis.
Invitation to the online release
The project partners SKZ – Das Kunststoff-Zentrum and brands & values GmbH invite product engineers, developers and sustainability managers to the digital presentation of the tool. The 45-minute event offers an insight into the functions and application scenarios of the tool as well as the background to its development.
The event will take place online on Thursday, 20 November 2025, from 12:45 to 13:30. Access details will be provided to participants after registration.
Registration & contact
To participate in the online release, SKZ requests informal registration.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the organiser, Julius Ort (j.ort@skz.de).
About SuLiCo
SuLiCo aims to make the sustainability of lightweight plastic components systematically assessable and optimisable using a digital tool. The project is aimed in particular at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which have previously had only limited access to holistic environmental assessment solutions.
Further information on the SuLiCo research project
The SuLiCo project (funding code 03LB3084A) is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) as part of the Lightweight Construction Technology Transfer Programme (TTP LB) following a decision by the German Bundestag.
The SKZ is a climate protection company and a member of the Zuse Association. This is an association of independent, industry-related research institutions that pursue the goal of improving the performance and competitiveness of industry, especially SMEs, through innovation and networking.
