Kraftanlagen and Equans launch a new subsidiary in Germany – Equans Process Solutions specialised in Design & Build solutions for future markets

By establishing Equans Process Solutions GmbH in Munich, Kraftanlagen Energies & Services SE and its French parent company, Equans, are entering new market segments in the pharmaceutical, battery production and semiconductor sectors. Operating under the Equans Process Solutions brand, the company acts as a general contractor, providing comprehensive turnkey solutions for the process industry in Germany.

Demand for future-oriented industries, such as pharmaceuticals, battery production and semiconductor, is growing rapidly. In 2024, for example, the German pharmaceutical market recorded year-on-year sales growth of €4.7 billion*, and the semiconductor industry is expecting an annual growth rate of over 10 per cent for the next five years**. At the same time, production facilities in these sectors must be efficient and sustainable while meeting the highest standards. Equans Process Solutions addresses these challenges with an integrated design and build approach, combining international expertise in these industries with local market knowledge, particularly in Germany.

“As a specialised EPC contractor, Equans Process Solutions offers customers design and project management, as well as construction services, all from a single source. By overlapping the design and construction phases, projects can be implemented extremely quickly and efficiently — a decisive factor in dynamic markets such as pharmaceuticals and semiconductor. Our teams have all the expertise required for implementing industrial plants, including process design, prefabrication, construction, commissioning and qualification,” explains Florian Obermayer, Head of the Industry Business Unit at Kraftanlagen Energies & Services.

Equans Process Solutions brings together expertise in several key areas: engineering (feasibility, design, project management and sustainable engineering), process equipment (equipment manufacture, installation and industrial transfer), utilities & process environment (clean & dry concept, speciality fluids & process, air treatment, HVAC, electricity and hydrogen), industrial services and maintenance. Equans Process Solutions’ design and build solution creates concrete operational synergies, reduces interfaces and ensures technical and operational continuity, while optimising project management. Thanks to enhanced coordination, Equans Process Solutions can deliver projects in shorter timeframes without compromising safety, optimise technical performance, and ensure strict control of budgets and schedules.

Equans Process Solutions not only supports its customers with technical implementation, but also drives forward ecological and digital transformation, thereby laying the foundation for efficient, sustainable and future-proof processes.
