DATRON AG Celebrates Move to New Headquarters in Ober-Ramstadt

DATRON AG, leading German manufacturer of CNC milling and dispensing machines and milling tools celebrated its move into its new headquarters in Ober-Ramstadt with a ceremony last Friday. Around 80 guests from politics, business, government, banking, as well as planning and construction, gathered to mark this milestone together with the company.

The new location at “Am Innovationsfeld 1” represents a clear commitment to the region and to industrial value creation in South Hesse. DATRON was founded in 1969 in Darmstadt-Bessungen and was based in Mühltal-Traisa from 1975 to 2025. With the new building, the previous locations in Mühltal-Traisa, Darmstadt, Reinheim, and Lindenfels-Winterkasten were consolidated into a single corporate headquarters. Groundbreaking took place on March 31, 2023, and the move-in was on July 1, 2025.

In his address, CEO Michael Daniel emphasized that the new building was far more than concrete, steel and glass: it was a deliberate investment in the company’s future, in improved processes, shorter distances, modern workplaces, and further growth. In doing so, DATRON was not only creating additional space but, above all, better conditions for quality, precision, efficiency, and collaboration.

Additional welcoming remarks to the guests were delivered by Dirk Widuch, Managing Director of the South Hesse Business Association; Lutz Köhler, First Deputy District Administrator of the Darmstadt-Dieburg district; Tobias Silbereis, Mayor of Ober-Ramstadt; and Dr. Arne Brüsch, former CEO and current member of the DATRON Supervisory Board.

Following the ceremony, attendees were given a tour of the new building, offering them a glimpse into the new corporate headquarters with approximately 17,000 square meters of floor space on the 45,000-square-meter DATRON site. Particular interest was shown in the technical section of the building, which includes the technology center, milling shop, training workshop, and various assembly areas. There, it becomes clear how technology, development, production, training, assembly, and the tool grinding shop will be even more closely integrated in the future.

For DATRON, the new headquarters marks an important step into the next phase of the company’s development. Consolidating the previous locations improves coordination, accelerates processes, and strengthens the company’s performance. Employees also benefit from modern workspaces, a functional environment, and high-quality jobs close to where they live. For the region, the new building sends a strong signal: industrial value creation, technological precision, and regional ties go hand in hand in southern Hesse.

“This building is more than just a new location. It is a promise,” said Michael Daniel, making it clear that DATRON does not want to wait for the future but rather actively shape it.

In the afternoon, the festivities continued with a large summer party. Employees, their families, and friends of the company celebrated the new location together with the rest of the workforce, enjoying culinary delights, live music, and a children’s program. Thus, the day served simultaneously as an official ceremony, an expression of gratitude to all involved, and a collective step into the future.
